Blessed Sunday

Grace was baptized at St. Agnes this past Sunday, and it was such a special event. We have been taking her to mass with us since she was 2 weeks old, and we've only missed a handful of Sundays (not too shabby with a 4-month old). I look forward to teaching her about God, and for her to develop her own relationship with him. This is only the beginning of her religious journey, and it is amazing to be a part of that and to help her grown in God.

My sister Laura and Greg's brother Jeff are Grace's godparents, and I'm excited for them to have that relationship with her.

Here are the pictures from Grace's baptism. In attendance were Grandma Barbara, Grandpa Ron, Aunt Laura, Uncle Matt, Ella and Will, Uncle Jeff, Ali, Great Aunt Shirley and Chick. My Dad and Virginia couldn't make it due to the weather, and we definitely missed them!! But hopefully they'll be able to come up for a visit in a few weeks.

Father Wisner was the officiant.

Grace didn't cry when Father blessed her with water, she just kind of flinched and acted more shocked than anything. She did really good!

Same thing when he blessed her with oil on the crown of her head.

We went over to Jeff's house after the baptism for a little reception. Everyone wanted their photo taken with the special girl!! And she finally let us put on her little bonnet. So cute!

She doesn't look too happy in this picture, does she? It must be Uncle Jeff! (Just kidding)

Her baptism cake was soooo good.

All tuckered out on Grandma's shoulder.

4 Months Old!

We had Gracie's 4-month checkup yesterday and she is doing great! She is now up to 24 1/4 inches (50th percentile) and 11 1/2 pounds (only the 10th percentile). I'm, of course, worried that she's not gaining enough weight, but the pediatrician assured me that Grace is fine and that she is, in fact, gaining weight, just on the lower end of the spectrum.

Grace rocks tummy time and totally does the "swimming" thing. She'll be crawling any day now. :)

She loves her Sophie giraffe and is starting to gnaw on it with her gums.

 My cute little mouse!

Getting so big in her chair. Grace loves to sit and stand, and of course dance!

Playtime with daddy.

Grace loves Oscar, and loves it when we help her pet him. They are going to be best buds. It looks like he is in pain, but really he was mid-yawn.

More fun in the green chair with these awesome needlepoint blocks that one of my mom's Kappa friends, Ellen Krupp, made for Grace. Ellen also made these same alphabet blocks for me when I was a baby.

On the verge of rolling over. She is so close!

This fish toy has a mirror on it, and Grace loves looking at herself. We love playing, "Who's that baby?"

My sweet girl with the crazy hair!!

Katie

So Close

Grace is seriously so close to rolling over from her back to her tummy. In fact, she could have already done it at daycare and I would have no idea, but I'm trying not to think about that or I'll start crying. She is going to roll over any day now, so I'm keeping the camera close to try to capture her in all of her glory.

I thought a few nights ago that she was going to do it, but her attempts were too cute that I had to share them with you. Please excuse my amature video skills, hopefully I'll get better. Oh, and I just realized that my camera has video capability, so I could have been taking video for the past 4 months but didn't know it (cue major mom guilt!). Enjoy!

Love,
Katie

Fun in the Tub

Gracie is really starting to love bath time. She kicks her legs and splashes in the water. She has this cute pink rubber ducky that lights up and plays music and she just stares at it in awe. I need to post a video of it. These photos were taken right before she pooped in the tub, gotta love that!

Christmas Part 2

Christmas Day was probably the most relaxing Christmas I've spent in a long time. We stayed in our house all day long and did not have a single plan, except to enjoy the day with Grace.

Merry Christmas BooMark! Here are the cutest Christmas socks ever, from BooMark and Virginia.

Grace also received the most precious advent calendar from Saks that we will look forward to using every year. The little doors open and you can put tiny presents in each day.

Just hanging out in the Bumbo.

Who do you think she looks like? Mom or Dad?

Merry Christmas! Can't wait till next year!

Christmas Part 1

Wow, so is it really January 15 already? Where has the time gone? Oh right, between going back to work full time and being a full-time mom to a very active almost 4-month old, there is not a whole lot of "free" time.

We had a great first Christmas with Grace!

My Dad drove in from Tulsa and stayed with us for a few days before staying with my sister and her family.

We went up to Leavenworth for Christmas Eve with Greg's parents, Aunt Shirley and Chick, Jeff and my Dad.

It was so nice and so fun to be able to experience it with Grace.

She was definitely the hit of the party!

She got some books, toys and even her first American Girl doll (Lanie) from Grandpa Ron!

We went to the most beautiful simple little church for midnight mass, and Grace slept through the whole thing, almost. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve and we are lucky that we are so close in distance to Greg's parents so we can continue on this tradition.
